Nonprofit Management Services of Colorado (NMSC) has a great opportunity for a Systems Specialist II in our IT department. You’ll get to perform a wide variety of moderately complex to complex systems administration and technical support tasks at the end user and client device level including:

  • Conducting detailed investigations recommending interim solutions and final problem resolution
  • Independently troubleshooting complex problems immediately to avoid costly downtime and service outages
  • Communicating and enforcing IT standards, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Contributing to and expanding upon comprehensive online knowledge base for IT staff and end users
  • Assisting in the development of all standard workstation configurations, custom workstation configurations, self-service software catalogs, ongoing application installations, and testing of all end-user related software - including all appropriate patches and updates across the organization
  • Assisting in the automated and manual distribution of software installations to multiple end user devices in an integrated platform environment
  • Delivering high-quality technical service and support results for all constituencies via IT Service Desk and multi-site technical support planning
  • Collaborating with peers, system administrators, software and network support teams to troubleshoot and resolve enterprise-level problems related to end user workflow requirements, devices, and software functionality

You’ll be based out of our Inverness office location just south of the Denver Tech Center in the Denver Metro area, CO. ​We’re committed to a great work-life balance, so our offices are closed on Fridays! You’ll get to work Monday - Thursday, typically doing a 10-hour day at 40 hours/week.

More about what you’ll get to do as our Systems Specialist II

  • Assist in ensuring quality 360-degree end user services ranging from device planning & acquisition, preparation & distribution, troubleshooting & support, repair & maintenance operations to remote user support, schedules on-site service visits, and constituent feedback via the IT Service Desk
  • Assist with ensuring an appropriate technology package is acquired and pre-configured, including computer, phone and other peripheral devices (as needed), prior to date of hire and/or initial day of work for new employees; provides needed training on use of these devices for new and existing employees
  • Test, manage and deploy standard configurations and software images
  • Assist with implementation and management of automation systems to install and configure applications, OS and software updates and patches to ensure optimal performance and data security across the company-wide network and beyond; devices will be primarily Windows 10, OSX, iOS, and Android in nature
  • Assist with creation, testing and management of processes and procedures for device tracking and application management of end user devices; assist with and/or instructs IT Systems Specialist I in best practices and procedures
  • Design, develop, provide instruction and ongoing guidance regarding end user systems and services, document and train staff throughout all project lifecycles
  • Assist with providing fundamental reports using a variety of automated reporting software and business intelligence tools
  • Assist with the loading and implementation of new software/hardware programs; communicate changes and problem solves issues with internal stakeholders and IT team members
  • Monitor, tune, diagnose, and resolve advanced end user device and systems issues
  • Assist with the annual budget process as requested; proactively make suggestions related to current and future software needs

Must haves to be our Systems Specialist II

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and three (3) years related experience
    • Or Associates degree in a computer-related field and four (4) to six (6) years industry-specific, enterprise-level experience
    • Or both current MCSA: Win10 and MCSA: Office 365 certifications (or new MTA equivalents) plus four (4) to six (6) years of industry-specific, enterprise-level experience

*Industry-specific, enterprise-level experience includes the configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair and ongoing support of a modern, largely mobile and widely dispersed workforce

  • Demonstrated experience in the deployment and support of on-site/off-site, enterprise-level device imaging, endpoint management, update, patch, and upgrade systems (SCCM, KACE, Meraki, JAMF, etc.) and using a variety of automated tools MCSA: Win10, MCSA: Office365, ITIL: Foundation, and/or CompTIA: A+
  • Advanced operating knowledge of and experience with agile, enterprise-level practices and procedures related to desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone, peripherals, imaging (print, copy, fax) and audiovisual equipment
  • Proven knowledge of and adherence to IT network, computer, server, and device security best practices
  • Advanced operating knowledge of and experience with standard instructional and business productivity software (Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot end user issues within Microsoft 365 including Exchange Admin Center administration, SharePoint, Office Apps online, OneDrive, OneNote, and M365 administration


  • MCSA: Win10, MCSA: Office365 (or new MTA equivalents), ITIL: Foundation, ITIL: Intermediate, and/or CompTIA: Mobility+
  • Demonstrated experience in the deployment and support of automated, enterprise-level anti-virus and malware protection systems
  • Proven knowledge of and adherence to IT network, computer, server, and device security best practices
  • Experience working within a small, agile, and fast-paced IT organization consisting of client support, network, systems administration and software development teams
  • Operating knowledge of Hyper-V, Voice-over-IP and online fax services
  • Valid Colorado driver license/proof of auto insurance
  • Meet and maintain our driving requirements - no suspensions/revocations in the past 3 years and no more than 2 tickets/moving violations in the past 3 years
