​Nonprofit Management Services of Colorado (NMSC) has a fantastic opportunity for a Billing Coordinator who will get to perform day-to-day billing functions and provide support to our internal and external customers.

More about what you’ll get to do as our Billing Coordinator

  • Bill claims/services and miscellaneous items to various insurances, including Medicaid and commercial insurances, for the Community Center Board (CCB) and other agencies, within the monthly billing cycle
  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims or other outstanding receivables; distribute reports as needed
  • Identify areas of concern and aid in the development of processes for resolution
  • Perform billing reconciliations
  • Create invoices/notices that are mailed to insurers when payments are not received timely for the purpose of collections
  • Maintain billing records
  • Monitor and assure that billing files are maintained according to agency and governmental standards
  • Prepare financial documents according to department and audit requirements
  • Problem-solve issues with supervisor’s direction
  • Assist in schedule preparation for the annual audit as needed

Starting Salary and Benefits

Requirements to be our Billing Coordinator

  • Associates degree in a business-related field and/or equivalent work experience in medical billing
  • Experience in health insurance policies and procedures with an emphasis on Medicaid and commercial insurance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with managers, peers, person’s in services, families and others
  • Ability to provide good customer service at all times, including in stressful situations
  • Ability to perform computer functions necessary to carry out job responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
  • Advance to intermediate Excel skills
  • High degree of accuracy with time-sensitive, detailed information
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make effective decisions
  • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours
